Most of what a business knows lives in a handful of documents nobody has time to re-read. Give the folder to Machine and everyone on the team can ask it.
Shared knowledge
Prices, policies, procedures, supplier terms, the way you do things. Ask in plain words and get the answer with the file it came from. When the file changes, the answer changes.
Sam: what's our lead time on the Studio right now?
Machine: Three weeks. notes.txt, Sept 20: warehouse says the 5m cable is back-ordered to mid October, so bundles ship without it.
Onboarding
A new hire asks Machine instead of interrupting someone for the fortieth time. Where's the returns policy, how do we quote, who handles what. Day one is productive; the answers are the same for everyone.
New hire: can a customer return a cable?
Machine: No. Cables are final sale (returns-policy.md). Hardware, yes, within 30 days if undamaged.
Sales, from the road
A rep on site pulls out the phone and asks. Stock, price, the right bundle, what was promised last time. The Mac in the office answers over an encrypted line; nothing about the deal touches a third party.
Rep: studio plus yearly care, what's the number
Machine: $3,499 + $240 = $3,739. Care stays at $240 through year end (notes, Sept 28). 3 Studios in stock.
Support and the front desk
Whoever is answering the phone today has the whole company's knowledge beside them. Machine drafts the reply, they check it and send it. Consistent answers, in your voice, without a script.
Front desk: draft a reply, customer wants to return a Mini bought 6 weeks ago
Machine: Hi — our hardware returns window is 30 days, so a return isn't possible here, but if there's a fault it's covered under warranty. Send us the order number and…
The room
Everyone joins one room from their phone — up to eight. It's a team chat that happens to have your company's knowledge sitting in it. Machine stays quiet until someone says its name.
Priya: demo unit for Thursday — who has one?
Sam: Machine, what did we say about Priya's demo?
Machine: Notes, Sept 12: demo unit to Priya by Oct 3.
Just writing
Emails, proposals, product descriptions, the awkward message. A capable model, in your manner, with your context already loaded, and none of it ever leaving your machine.
Owner: write the price increase note for care plans, we're going from 240 to 270 in January
Machine: Subject: A small change to Machine Care in January…
